About the role  
As the Social Worker you will be a part of an integrated team comprising of Carers, Therapists, and Support Workers, you will provide Therapeutic support to Carers and the children and young people placed in their care. You will work within Key Assets policies and procedures in accordance with the Key Care Team frameworks.
To be successful you will have a strong understanding and solid skills relating to out of home care (OOHC) and child protection. You will have a tertiary qualification in Social Work which is recognised by AASW. The role will primarily be based within the community working with foster carers and maintaining the safety of the child/ren or young people in care. Travel within and around your coverage area is an expectation of the role so flexibility and the ability to work unsupervised is an essential component.

The successful candidate will

  • Have a tertiary qualification in Social Work recognised by AASW
  • Have experience working with foster carers and with children and young people
  • Be highly energised and have a passion for delivering a high standard of service 
  • Be highly committed, resourceful, possess excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Experience in risk, critical incidents/allegations, investigations process and recording
  • Sound knowledge of trauma and attachment
  • Have experience of writing reports and carrying out broad based assessments drawing upon contemporary theory and research
  • A working knowledge of relevant legislation arising from Child Protection Legislation
  • Have a current/or be able to obtain a Child Safe Environment and DCSI Certificate and satisfactorily complete other personal and statutory check as required
