An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join our Disability Services & Support Team full time to lead the implementation of a new Parent Child Service aimed at empowering parents with a cognitive disability to reach their parenting goals and raise happy, healthy children.

Based at our office in Stirling, north of the Perth CBD you will be responsible for supporting eligible families through the planning, oversight and delivery of tailored packages of support, ensuring fidelity to the evidence-based service model and parenting program.  Your role will include the induction, supervision and coaching of Disability Support Workers. 
Other parts of the role include Behaviour Support planning and Support Co-ordination with families who have complex needs.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • A recognised qualification in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the AASW
  • At least two years' Social Work experience
  • Experience in supervising and leading teams
  • Experience in working with young people with cognitive disabilities
  • Understanding and knowledge the impact of trauma on childhood development and emerging mental ill-health
  • A contemporary attitude toward, and knowledge of working in the disability sector
