Families for Life Team Manager – VIC, Full Time Clayton.

Due to the growth of our Families for Life service in Victoria we now have an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the success to our growing service within Key Assets – The Children's Services Provider. This role will be based in Clayton focusing on the early intervention and prevention service within the Bayside area.

About the role, as the Families for Life Team Manager will support Case/Social Workers to work intensively with at risk children, young people, individuals and their families. With the aim of keeping children and young people safe, strengthen families, build parenting capacity, prevent children and young people entering Out-of-Home Care and safely restore children and young people back to family.

Key Components of the role:

  • To work with families to strengthen parent capability to provide basic care, ensure safety and promote their child’s development
  • Allocate work and tasks to Social Workers / Case Workers and chair relevant meetings, both internally and externally, as required.
  • Ensure that quality assurance and best practice is maintained in all cases and at all times through supervision and regular file audits
  • Work closely with the Director / Operations Manager to ensure that the Families for Life team is appropriately resourced, managed and supported.
  • To take responsibility for the ongoing implementation of the Practice Framework into The Families for Life Service.
  • Undertake strengths-based needs assessments of families and deliver case management responsibilities as required.
  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge, skills and expertise in Social Work practice

Experience and Skills Required:

  • To demonstrate expertise and commitment to a growing team and the service you will provide
  • Bring high energy, enthusiasm and a passion for the role
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Child and Family Social Work / Case Work, a Social Work qualification is highly desirable
  • Show evidence of leadership and supervisory experience
  • Have a strong ability to build sustainable relationships with all stakeholders
  • Must have a comprehensive working knowledge of all relevant legislation pertaining to children’s services and of all policies and procedures in relation to Safeguarding children
