About the role

As a Youth Worker you will provide direct care services to young people with a complex trauma history. You will ensure delivery of individualised services that meet the needs of children and young people, aligning with their care plan goals and the service delivery model. You will keep children safe by assisting in the development and implementation of safety plans and positive behaviour support plans. You will actively engage the young person in a range of activities, modified education and family connection work. You will report on your activities regularly and in a timely manner.

You will need to work within Key Assets policies and procedures including child safe procedures.

The successful candidate will

  • Possess the relevant tertiary qualifications or relevant experience required for community services youth work in a remote area,
  • Be willing to travel and service the local Kununurra area and surrounding communities,
  • Be highly energised and have a passion for delivering a high standard of support and service,
  • Be highly committed, resourceful, resilient, trauma informed, possess excellent organisational, admin and communication skills,
  • Be skilled at engaging Aboriginal people in a community setting,
  • Have a current Working with Children Card and be willing to undergo statutory checks as required.
