  • Offices based in Launceston with onsite parking but work is primarily based within the community
  • On Call Roster + Allowances
  • Full time 37.5 hrs pw, Salary Sacrifice options for NFP including Vehicle + Fuel Card
  • On-going professional supervision and training
  • 4weeks Leave, increasing to 5weeks after 2 yrs continued service

  • We provide therapeutic practice support to families and the vulnerable children and young people placed in their care
  • Key Assets are an evolving Children’s Services (NGO) provider, located Australia wide

About the role –

As a Case/Social Worker you will work within the region of Launceston promoting the wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people by supporting and building the capacity of those adults responsible for their care. Key Assets Tasmania supports children and young people in foster care and works with vulnerable families whose children and young people are at risk of entering foster care.

Core Tasks

  • Work in partnership in the KEY CARE TEAM approach to help identify any needs within the foster family e.g. respite, activities, therapy, holidays, with all members of the child’s network, including contribution to all relevant meetings and any other tasks defined
  • Ensure the protection of C&YP and the promotion of their welfare is given absolute priority in all activities and that critical incidents/allegations are recorded, investigated and acted upon appropriately
  • Comply with all Key Assets Policies and Procedure and child protection/safety procedures and legislation

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to a high standard of practice
  • Demonstrated support and coaching capability
  • High energy, enthusiasm and a passion for the role
  • Experience in Child and Family Social Work / Case Work is desirable
  • Demonstrated capacity to build robust and sustainable relationships with all stakeholders
  • Knowledge of children’s services and principles of safeguarding
  • Must be able to work flexibly including outside standard business hours including being part of the after-hours response on a rostered basis.
